Proclaiming Christ in East Africa: Operation Uganda 2026

By God's grace, I traveled to Entebbe, Uganda, from July 1–16 for what I'm calling "Operation Uganda 2026," to preach and teach for the glory of Jesus Christ. I met for the first time with my wonderful host, Pastor Sam Kisembo, and his lovely wife, Juliet, and stayed with them in their home. They are the 151st family from around the world that I've stayed with on this gospel journey.

Laboring in the Markets and Streets

For two weeks, I labored alongside John "the evangelist" Magoola and the saints from Mutungo Community Church (MCC) and Bujuko Community Church (BCC), open-air preaching in various markets and doing door-to-door evangelism. I also preached sermons in both churches and conducted evangelism training for both congregations.

Strengthening a Young Church in Bujuko

John and I traveled into the countryside to the township of Bujuko—a vital trading center connecting many villages—to meet Pastor Ronnie Ssekidde. Six months ago, Pastor Ronnie planted BCC. The saints there were encouraged by the morning message and the evangelism training, knowing we can boldly go with the gospel to our neighbors because we have the truth. I was the second visitor to preach at the church and the first evangelist to come and work alongside them.

Sowing Seed in Crowded Kampala

John and I also spent a day in Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. There were people everywhere, so we preached and distributed many gospel tracts. In some places, people clapped and thanked us for sharing the glorious truth of God's word.

Gospel Fellowship

It was a pleasure to be with the saints who love the Lord, with my brother and friend John who has a heart to evangelize and win souls for Christ, and with Pastors Ronnie and Sam who love Christ and the people whom the Lord has given them to shepherd. Lord willing, I will be able to return next year and bring more laborers into the vineyard for the glory and honor of the King of kings and Lord of lords, Jesus Christ.

Praying for the Harvest

Please join me in praying for the saints and the pastors at MCC and BCC. Ask the Lord to meet the needs at both churches, for the growth of the young Bujuko Community Church, and for the salvation of the souls who heard the preaching and received tracts

The first place we preached was at the Bahati High School to the Christian students there.

I flew Ethiopian Airlines to Addis Abba Ethiopia and then to Entebbe Uganda.

I spent Sunday worship with Pastor Sam Kisembo at the Mutungo Community Church. I preached the main and evening services and shared with the youth.

We've been preaching in the different markets. This is the Zana Namasuba market.

Brother John Magoola (on the left) is an elder at Mutungo Community Church and a true evangelist. He has a tender heart in sharing the gospel and is a humble servant of the saints of his congregation

This young Christian man asked me for gospel literature to read and was very happy to receive the "What Is The Gospel" booklet by Paul Washer.

We went into the Entebbe Kitoro Market in the evening. It was filled with many people.

We preached at a school sports day. There were children from the local schools in the area. Following the preaching some of the students asked some really good questions.

Preaching in the market on Entebbe Road. It is very close to Lake Victoria.

We spent one afternoon preaching in the city of Kampala and giving tracts. There were many people out and about in the nation's capital. Many thanks were given for the gospel preaching.

We traveled out into the countryside to the central township of Bujuko, a vital trading center connecting many villages to meet Pastor Ronnie Ssekidde. Six months ago Pastor Ronnie planted the Bujuko Community Church in the township. I was able to encourage the saints preaching the morning message at the Sunday service. I was the second visitor to preach at the church and the first evangelist to come and work with the saints here. Here I am with Pastor Ronnie and a future intern Earnest, who recently graduated from Bible college.

Part of the morning worship service at Bujuko Community Church.

We went to the township center to preach the good news of the gospel. Many people were in the market buying and selling. Pastor Ronnie here preaching and telling people the location of the church.

Pastor Ronnie planted the Bujuko Community Church 6 months ago. This structure was built in a week. and 25-30 people are already attending after 6 months.

And next door is the devil's house, a worship center run by a witch. They actually worship the devil and make human sacrifices (done in secret). The pastor said 1000 people would come here. However since the church plant the numbers have gone down quite considerably. The people in town thank the pastor for planting the church and destroying the work of the devil.

Pastor Ronnie and I preaching in the center of Bujuko in the market area.

Our team of evangelists from Bujuko Community Church; John, Agnes, Justine (Pastor Ronnie's wife), Pastor Ronnie and Resti.

We went to do door to door evangelism. Pastor Ronnie, Resti and I talked with this woman and her son.
