Biblical Exposition for Open Air Preachers

In these six week trainings, you will gain the conviction and tools to take your preaching to the next level in preparation for your upcoming outings. We will dive into the tools to help you grasp the text you are looking to preach the way God intended it. Based on the tools and principles of the Charles Simeon Trust Workshops we will look to grow and deepen your preaching to be faithful to the text and truly exalt Christ as you herald Him to those who desperately need him.

Get in the Game- Fall Training 2021

Beginning September 14th Heath Pucel will be continuing his Biblical Exposition training for open air preachers in the Book of Ecclesiastes and then the Gospel of Mark.

Heath says this about the training:

We as open air preachers have been given the wonderful burdensome task of preaching God’s Word. We are heralds of the King and He has given us the message to proclaim! Our job to faithfully study both the content and intent of the message to faithfully proclaim this message of the king. As a herald, we are not to alter the message given. We are to faithfully deliver this message.

For many, the common response to our open air preaching endeavors is “There are a lot of apathetic and/or hard hearts out there.” Could it be that what your are proclaiming is getting caught up in the sea of Rhetoric? And what you are proclaiming is not bathed in prayer and marked with authority? Have you altered the message of the King?

It is my conviction that the Word of God rightly proclaimed demands a response from the hearer and apprehends the hearer as the Holy Spirit directs."

Heath will personally lead you through the workshop for each book. He will teach, using the Simeon Trust's First Principles process, topics like the Pathway to Preparation, Context, Structure, Preaching the Gospel, Arranging and Arguing your material and more. You will have a chance to put these principles into practice as you will prepare text(s) ahead of time for our small groups and then present your work for peer review.

"I think the George Whitefield program was incredibly informative and useful for biblical study. I was probably taught by Heath Pucel, as well as the others in attendance, so much more than I was expecting. It was like my eyes were kind of opened up and I realized, at least to some degree, how little I really knew about the Scriptures. I would highly recommend attending a program like this or receiving teaching from Heath. It was a great time to learn how to more than just preach, but how one ought to study Scripture. Although, it might be said that what we learned there was barely scratching the surface, with so much more to learn.
